Anantara Eyes New Space in World of Clouds

With domain expertise in cloud computing technologies, Anantara Solutions is eyeing huge opportunities in consulting opportunities

By Srikanth RP, NC, October 27, 2009, 1030 hrs

The new world of cloud computing—where vendors are trying to tailor their applications to suit cloud computing platforms—is throwing up huge opportunities for focused IT service providers such as Anantara Solutions.

For example, this year the company signed a cloud computing deal with a company called Srini NewCo, which is developing an enterprise-class application hosting platform that would run on top of existing cloud service providers such as Amazon EC2. Anantara is helping Srini NewCo in building this platform which will help customers in hosting their applications on the cloud.

Sundararaj SubbarayaluWhile opportunities in the cloud are immense, few vendors have the understanding or the knowledge to adequately re-engineer their product architectures for the cloud. Explains Sundararaj Subbarayalu, Founding Team Member, Anantara Solutions, “The development of applications on a cloud requires a different approach. In this model, developers require less coding, and more architecting skills. The architecture must also be robust enough to perform at the scale at which cloud-based architectures are expected to perform.”

With more and more ISVs looking at tapping opportunities in the cloud, Subbarayalu believes that his company’s experience in designing cloud-based architectures will offer an advantage over traditional competitors.

Anantara is also offering customers advice on moving to the cloud. This includes sharing best practices and methodologies that enable customers to leverage the cloud more efficiently.
