Integrated solution to track prospect-to-cash cycle

Snapshot
Company: L&T e-Engineering Solutions
Project: Microsoft Dynamics to track project lifecycle
IT Head / CIO / CTO / Project Lead:  Sanjay Choudhari

With a workforce of 1,400 spread across different projects and locations and a rudimentary scale to track profit pipelines, L&T e-Engineering Solutions needed a solution that would simplify processes, enhance operational and resource efficiency, and reduce processing cycle-time.

The company provides engineering solutions covering entire product lifecycle across a range of verticals. Each vertical poses its own set of implementation, track utilization and profitability challenges. Thus, the company required an integrated solution which would track the prospect-to-cash cycle, project profitability and employee utilization.

With consulting and implementation assistance from the Systems Advisors Group, the company adopted Microsoft Dynamics Professional Services Automation solutions. Designed specifically for project-based organizations, this solution helps organizations to track financial, resource and intellectual capital systems to reduce redundant effort, streamline processes, improve accuracy, and increase productivity.

The deployment allowed the company to track prospect-to-cash cycles and have a better control over the ROI on their projects. Post deployment, information exchange across departments and projects is automated, which has not only simplified processes but also enhanced project management tracking and boosting efficiency.

It has also enabled the organization to track employee utilization, thereby reducing costly budget overruns and eliminating resource shortages. An improved employee utilization of 1 percent has also allowed the company to achieve an increased profitability by 1.02 percent. The company now expects an additional 5 percent increase in employee utilization.

Highlights
  • Deployment allows tracking prospect-to-cash cycle, project profitability and employee utilization
  • Profitability increased by 1.02 percent
